Habitat For Humanity
I recently shot a build for the Philadelphia branch of the non profit organization habitat for humanity. They provide housing and assistance to those in need. If your not familiar with them check out their web page here.
It was a fascinating experience to see the basic bones of a house raised in the matter of a day. The teamwork and the general mood of the day was so positive.
I addition to building and providing housing for the less fortunate. Habitat for humanity offers lots of home appliances and goods at a steep discount. That program is called restore. I’ve actually been on the receiving end of some of their generosity and it helped immensely when I needed a washer/dryer and refrigerator for my new house.
