Kinetic Sculpture Derby At The Trenton Ave Arts Fest

Kinetic Sculpture Derby 6

Kinetic Sculpture Derby

I photographed the Trenton Ave Arts fest along with the kinetic sculpture derby in Kensington. I’ve attended the derby before the last couple years its happened and had a great time so when the NKCDC asked me to shoot the event I was happy to oblige.  The derby featured a bunch of local artists who more or less altered their bicycles and created moving sculptures. They raced through the neighborhood and ended up finishing in a giant mud pit.

Aside from the derby lots of local vendors and artists set up vending tables along trenton ave. Everyone from Yards brewery to the local pizza shop. There were many other smaller businesses in attendance. Items sold vary from handmade rugs to artisanal photographic prints.  There were also a plethora of live music performances from local to regional bands and musicians. IF your on the fence about checking it out I would give it a shot next time it comes around. Its an event not to be missed.
