This is a throwback post. Phillies win world series 2008
Flashback to 2008 when the @phillies won the world series. I immediately grabbed my camera and rushed to Broad st. I was living in Fishtown at the time so it wasn’t a far trek. Living in philly my whole life I would always hear about people bragging about burning broad street to the ground if anyone ever won a championship. So I had to see if reality would live up the all the talk.
Sure enough there were fires I think a car got turned over and a luggage store was broken into on broad st. I’m sure more happened but its been a while and I’m sure you can find more online.
In hind sight this era was pretty tame compared to now. Well kinda.
I never posted these pictures because at the time they were almost “worthless” because I didn’t have the ability to turn them around fast enough and get them to any publications. I had a crappy camera and an even crappier computer.
On the eve of the @philadelphiaeagles headed to the Superbowl this coming Sunday this memory just screamed out at me. I hope you enjoy the shots. Go Birds!
